Abstract

This systematic literature review explores innovative approaches to upskilling English teachers for optimal language instruction. Focusing on technological integration, differentiated instruction, and cross-cultural competence, the study synthesizes findings from various sources. Technological integration emerges as a transformative tool, positively impacting teacher confidence and student engagement. Differentiated instruction strategies play a crucial role in creating inclusive language classrooms, fostering adaptability and positively influencing students' language acquisition. Cross-cultural competence proves vital for effective communication in diverse classrooms, emphasizing the need for cultural awareness in teacher upskilling initiatives. However, challenges such as resistance to change and resource constraints are identified, requiring strategic measures for successful implementation. The review concludes that a collaborative effort involving educators, policymakers, and stakeholders is essential to ensure the effective integration of these innovative approaches into teacher professional development programs, fostering a transformative impact on English language instruction in the evolving educational landscape.
