Corrections and Retractions Policy
The International Multidisciplinary Journal of Research for Innovation, Sustainability, and Excellence (IMJRISE) upholds the highest standards of research integrity. This policy outlines the procedures for addressing corrections and retractions, ensuring that the publication process remains transparent, reliable, and accountable.
1. Purpose of the Corrections and Retractions Policy
The aim of this policy is to:
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of the published research.
- Correct any errors that may have occurred during the publication process.
- Address instances of research misconduct or significant issues that require retraction.
2. Corrections
Corrections are issued when errors in a published article are identified that do not alter the overall conclusions of the research but need to be corrected to maintain scientific integrity. These include typographical mistakes, minor factual errors, and misstatements that do not impact the validity of the findings.
Types of Corrections
- Errata: Minor corrections to factual or typographical errors that do not affect the research outcomes or conclusions.
- Corrigenda: More substantial changes that correct errors in data, figures, or conclusions but still maintain the overall integrity of the study.
Procedure for Corrections
- Authors or readers may bring errors to the attention of the editorial team by contacting editor@risejournals.org.
- The editorial board will review the reported issue and decide whether a correction is needed.
- If a correction is required, an official notice will be published along with the corrected article.
- A clear explanation of the correction will be provided, including the location of the error in the original article.
3. Retractions
Retractions are issued when there is a significant issue with the integrity of the published work, including cases of plagiarism, data falsification, or other serious misconduct. Retractions may also occur when major errors that invalidate the conclusions of the article are discovered.
Conditions for Retraction
- Evidence of scientific misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, data manipulation, or falsification).
- Discovery of significant errors that undermine the validity of the study's findings.
- Withdrawal of consent from co-authors or the author who requests retraction due to ethical concerns.
Procedure for Retractions
- Retraction can be initiated by the author, editor, or any party who notices significant issues with the research.
- The editorial board will investigate the matter, and if a retraction is deemed necessary, the paper will be formally retracted.
- A retraction notice will be published alongside the original article, clearly stating the reason for retraction.
- The retraction notice will include an explanation of the reason for the retraction and will be accessible to all readers to ensure transparency.
4. Post-Retraction
After a retraction, the article will remain publicly accessible, but it will be clearly marked as "retracted" with a link to the retraction notice.
5. Conflicts of Interest
In cases where authors, reviewers, or editors may have a conflict of interest in the correction or retraction process, the editorial team will involve an independent party to ensure impartial decision-making.
6. Transparency and Accountability
The journal is committed to transparency throughout the process of corrections and retractions. All relevant communications and decisions will be clearly documented and made available for public viewing. The process aims to protect the credibility of both the authors and the journal.
7. Contact Information
For questions or concerns related to corrections or retractions, please contact the editorial office at editor@risejournals.org.
By adhering to this policy, IMJRISE ensures that all articles published in the journal meet the highest standards of academic integrity and accountability.
