Allegations of Research Misconduct
The International Multidisciplinary Journal of Research for Innovation, Sustainability, and Excellence (IMJRISE) is committed to upholding the highest standards of research integrity. We take all allegations of research misconduct seriously and follow a transparent, fair, and rigorous process to address such claims.
What Constitutes Research Misconduct?
Research misconduct includes, but is not limited to:
- Fabrication: Making up data or results.
- Falsification: Manipulating research materials, equipment, or processes, or altering data to misrepresent results.
- Plagiarism: Using the ideas, processes, results, or words of another without proper attribution.
- Unethical Research Practices: Violations of ethical standards, such as lack of informed consent, conflicts of interest, or breaches of confidentiality.
- Improper Authorship: Misrepresenting contributions or failing to credit collaborators appropriately.
Reporting Allegations
- Submission: Allegations of research misconduct must be submitted in writing to editor@risejournals.org.
- Details Required: The report should include:
- Name and contact information of the complainant.
- A clear description of the alleged misconduct.
- Supporting evidence or documentation, if available.
Anonymous complaints will be considered if sufficient evidence is provided to support an investigation.
Investigation Process
- Acknowledgment: The complaint will be acknowledged within five (5) working days.
- Initial Assessment: The Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the editorial board, will determine whether the allegation warrants further investigation.
- Investigation: If warranted, an independent review will be conducted by qualified individuals not involved in the alleged misconduct. This may include consulting the author's institution or ethical oversight bodies.
- Outcome: The investigation may result in one or more of the following actions:
- No Misconduct: If the allegation is unsubstantiated, the case will be dismissed, and all parties will be informed.
- Correction: If minor issues are identified, the journal may issue a correction.
- Retraction: If misconduct is confirmed, the affected article will be retracted, and a statement of retraction will be published.
- Institutional Referral: Serious cases may be referred to the author’s institution for further action.
Confidentiality and Fairness
- Investigations will be conducted with strict confidentiality to protect the rights of all parties involved.
- Authors accused of misconduct will be given an opportunity to respond to the allegations.
Adherence to Ethical Standards
IMJRISE follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for handling allegations of misconduct. We are committed to maintaining the integrity of the research record and promoting trust in scholarly communication.
