This study assessed the implementation of the Department of Health (DOH) Awareness Program in the coastal community of Barangay Molocaboc, Sagay City, Negros Occidental. It aimed to evaluate the program’s effectiveness in improving public health knowledge, communication reach, response preparedness, and policy implications among residents. A quantitative-descriptive survey design was used, and data were gathered from 293 respondents through a structured questionnaire. The majority of participants were female, aged 40 years and below, and had attained a high school level of education. Findings showed that the overall implementation of the DOH Awareness Program was rated favorably (M = 4.08). Participants strongly agreed with the program’s effectiveness (M = 4.34), communication strategies (M = 4.22), and efforts to address awareness disparities (M = 4.52). However, lower ratings were observed in response preparedness (M = 3.47) and policy implications (M = 3.86). Statistical analysis revealed no significant differences in program evaluation based on age and sex, except for policy implications, which varied significantly by sex (p = .030). Awareness disparities also showed a significant difference based on educational attainment (p =.000), suggesting varied perceptions of information accessibility. The results highlight the need to strengthen policy-related efforts and response mechanisms while tailoring communication strategies to address educational gaps in health awareness.
