School’s Community-Based Activities: Opportunities and Challenges

This qualitative-phenomenological study explores the opportunities and challenges of school-community-based activities in a medium-sized division in Northern Negros during the 2023-2024 School Year. The study identifies key themes through thematic analysis, including prioritizing learner welfare and emphasizing communication and collaboration for opportunities, limited resource allocation, negative community support, and non-participative parents for challenges. The findings reveal that schools can leverage parental support, community collaborations, and teacher teamwork to enhance educational impact, but face significant challenges. The study concludes that while school-community partnerships are valuable, addressing challenges is crucial for success. Recommendations include increasing resource allocation, improving community engagement, enhancing parental involvement, fostering teacher collaboration, and monitoring project effectiveness. These insights provide practical strategies for educators, policymakers, and community stakeholders to strengthen school-community partnerships and improve educational outcomes.
