Contextualized Physical Education Video-Based Instruction in Google Classroom

This study focuses on the development, validation, and evaluation of contextualized Physical Education video-based instruction for Grade 9 STE students using Google Classroom. Employing a developmental research design guided by the REACT model, the researcher adhered to the five stages of designing contextualized instructional materials. Given the limited number of participants, total enumeration was used to 66 Grade 9 STE students. The tool has undergone quality assurance validation from qualified Grade 9 MAPEH Teachers, learning Resource Evaluators in terms of content, instructional quality and technical quality and by the IT experts in terms of Style and Organization, creativity, content, quality, Spelling, Usage, Grammar, and Mechanics. Thus, findings revealed that the developed tools are acceptable as assessed by the two groups of validators. Pretest results indicated a mean score of 12.88 however, following the integration of video clips the post-test scores improved significantly with a mean score of 24.92. Additionally, the study will compare pre-test and posttest results before and after the exposure of the video-based instruction to ascertain the importance of the learning gains made by the students. The results will add to the increasing amount of information that supports contextualized teaching strategies and technology integration in the K–12 curriculum.
