Abstract

This qualitative study delves into the experiences of four mothers navigating their children's education during the COVID-19 pandemic, with a focus on modular learning modalities. Through in-depth interviews, four main themes emerged: Uncertainties of Mother-Mentors, Preparation of Activities, Actual Mentoring, and Accepting the Challenge.  The findings highlight the initial apprehension and challenges faced by mothers when transitioning to modular learning, including concerns about balancing work and assisting multiple children with their studies. Despite these uncertainties, the mothers exhibited resilience and dedication, proactively preparing conducive learning environments and adapting their routines to facilitate their children's education at home. The study underscores the pivotal role of parental involvement in supporting children's education during crisis situations, emphasizing the unwavering commitment of caregivers to prioritize their children's academic success. Despite the psychological impact of the pandemic, the mothers remained steadfast in their determination to uphold learning continuity and ensure their children's future prospects. This study provides valuable insights into the experiences of mothers navigating modular learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the need for innovative strategies to support families and ensure equitable access to quality education in times of uncertainty and disruption.
