Abstract

This integrative literature review examines the role of democratic school leadership in enhancing educational outcomes. Findings reveal that democratic leadership fosters a supportive learning environment, positively impacting student achievement, teacher job satisfaction, and retention. By involving stakeholders in decision-making processes, democratic leaders promote collaboration, trust, and inclusivity, contributing to a positive school climate. Despite its benefits, challenges such as resistance to change and power dynamics exist. Addressing these barriers requires sustained efforts to build capacity and foster a culture of collaboration. Overall, the study underscores the importance of democratic leadership in creating better schools, emphasizing the need for further research and policy initiatives to support its implementation.
