Abstract

This systematic literature review examines the dynamics of sustainable sports leadership and management in educational settings, focusing on the implementation of sports development programs in schools. Through a comprehensive analysis of existing research, key findings emerge, highlighting the critical role of effective leadership, resource allocation, student outcomes, and community engagement in shaping the success and sustainability of sports initiatives. Strong leadership is identified as essential for fostering a positive sports culture, strategic planning, and alignment with educational goals. Resource constraints, including limited funding and inadequate facilities, present persistent challenges that impact the equitable access and effectiveness of sports programs. Empirical evidence demonstrates the positive impact of sports participation on academic achievement, social skills, and mental health outcomes among students. Collaborative partnerships with local organizations and stakeholders emerge as pivotal for leveraging additional resources, expertise, and support, enhancing the reach and impact of sports initiatives. These findings underscore the importance of holistic approaches to sports education and management, with implications for policymakers, educators, and practitioners seeking to promote student development and well-being through sports participation in schools.
