Abstract

This systematic literature review examines the state of public sector management education in the Philippines and proposes strategies for its enhancement to meet 21st-century needs. Findings reveal a diverse array of educational programs offered by various institutions, yet challenges persist in aligning education with contemporary demands. These challenges include a gap between theory and practice, limited resources for faculty development, and a reluctance to embrace emerging trends like digital transformation. However, promising strategies emerge, such as fostering partnerships with government agencies, promoting interdisciplinary approaches, integrating experiential learning, and leveraging information technologies. Embracing these strategies is crucial for equipping future public sector leaders with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate complex governance challenges. Continuous adaptation and innovation are paramount, requiring collaboration between curriculum developers, policymakers, and stakeholders to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of public sector management education in the Philippines.
