Abstract

This integrative literature review explores strategies for mitigating language barriers in English communication, shedding light on diverse approaches across domains such as education, healthcare, business, and technology. Drawing on a rich array of sources, the study reveals the significance of context-specific strategies, emphasizing the need for tailoring approaches to unique challenges in different fields. Findings indicate that the effectiveness of communication strategies varies across contexts, necessitating adaptable and customized approaches grounded in cultural nuances and organizational structures. Technology emerges as a pivotal facilitator in overcoming language barriers, with translation apps, multilingual platforms, and language learning tools playing transformative roles. The study underscores the imperative for stakeholders to leverage technological solutions for more effective communication, particularly in multicultural and globalized settings. Additionally, a pronounced emphasis on educational initiatives, including language training programs and exchange partnerships, is identified as crucial for enhancing language proficiency. The synthesis of literature highlights the multidimensionality of language barriers and the importance of employing a combination of strategies for effective communication. The findings contribute to an understanding of the nuanced nature of language challenges, urging stakeholders to proactively implement context-specific, technologically adept, and educationally grounded approaches to foster proficient English communication across diverse settings and communities.
