Enhancing School Safety: Integrating William Glasser's  Choice Theory in Crisis Preparedness and Response

Abstract

This study examines the integration of William Glasser's Choice Theory into crisis preparedness  and response protocols within educational settings. Through a systematic literature review and  meta-analysis, the study explores the transformative impact of this integration, focusing on  themes such as empowerment and autonomy, psychological well-being and resilience, a holistic  approach to school safety, and enhanced crisis preparedness and response. The findings highlight  the significance of prioritizing the psychological needs of students and faculty during crises,  emphasizing the importance of fostering a supportive and empowering school environment. The  study underscores the interconnected nature of physical and psychological safety within  educational settings, emphasizing the need for comprehensive strategies that encompass both aspects. Moreover, the study demonstrates that the integration of Glasser's Choice Theory has led  to the development of proactive and efficient crisis management strategies, fostering a culture of  collaboration and collective problem-solving within the school community. Overall, the study  emphasizes the transformative potential of integrating psychological theories in enhancing the  safety and well-being of the educational environment.
