Enhancing Student Engagement and Critical Thinking through Interdisciplinary Education in Senior High Schools

This paper investigates the employment of interdisciplinary research in senior high schools, focusing on its definition, implementation, benefits, and challenges. Interdisciplinary approaches integrate knowledge across subjects, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving. Utilizing a systematic review of recent literature, this study analyzes interdisciplinary practices, evaluates their effects on students and teachers, and identifies key conditions for successful implementation. Findings indicate that while interdisciplinary approaches enrich learning experiences, challenges such as teacher collaboration, curriculum alignment, and assessment methods hinder their broader adoption. Recommendations for policy and practice are proposed to enhance interdisciplinary education in senior high schools.
